長年葉巻を楽しんでいると、一体最高の葉巻とはどんな葉巻なのだろうかと考える事もあります。
これは答えがあるようで無いような質問の一つだと思うのです。
多分１０人の葉巻愛好家にこの質問を投げかければ、十通りの返事が返ってくると思います。
私に限って言えば、自分にとって最高の葉巻はその時代に合わせて変わってきました。
葉巻を真剣に楽しみ始めたのはハワイにで生活していたころです。
自分でこれはいい葉巻だと最初に感じて何度も楽しんだ葉巻はLa Gloria Cubanaでした。
その後Rocky Patel Vintageに変わりました。
本土に戻ってからはOliva Serie OとPerdomo ESVが気に入っています。
でも、これらが最高の葉巻だと言い切れません。
今年の秋口に、妻と二人で夕焼けを見ながら、足元でじゃれる猫とともに楽しんだ葉巻は名前すら覚えていませんが、最高にいい味の葉巻でした。
こうして考えてみると葉巻が最高と思えるためには、その葉巻を包む時間の質がとても大切な感じがします。
一定の品質を越えた葉巻なら、時間次第で最高の葉巻になる素質を持つているのかもしれません。
